High School Workshop at UMass Lowell MakerSpace

Project Lead The Way High School students brought prototypes and projects from their Project Lead The Way classes to UMass Lowell’s MakerSpace on Thursday, February 6. They worked side by side with industry professionals and UMass Lowell engineering students to receive authentic feedback and iterate on their designs.

After working with their industry professional mentors, students had the opportunity to ask questions to a panel of professionals, including Flavio Fernandez of Red Hat, Bree Glasgow of Lockheed Martin, Krisha Murthy of Smith and Nephew, and Dr. Fred Martin of UMass Lowell.

Over 80 students participated in this event, from five Massachusetts high schools:

  • Chelmsford High School
  • Everett High School
  • KIPP Academy Lynn Collegiate
  • Stomeham High School
  • Uxbridge High School

Over 40 individuals volunteered their time with students at this event, including industry mentors from:
